Default Really long drive shaft.

Hey all I need a really long drive shaft the suit axial Tranny and dif. Its to go in a 60/40 slingshot. It needs to be around 140-150mm long. Have you guys in the know got any suggestions for an off the shelf shaft or will it have to be a home brew drive shaft. I have looked in to a junfac but the longest they go is 130mm.

Cheers

The Punisher is made in quite a few longer lengths:

The longest they have is listed as 237mm extended....so I am sure you can find one that will work.

I would just piece one together using male and female 'Pede shafts. Yea, it's plastic, but leaving the male parts long inside the females will improve the strength, and it will be light. If your set on a metal one, and have a welder... you could extend a steel shaft out. Junfac, MIP, etc. Or the long punisher shaft available as per Jeremy's post above.

Here is a shot of a Pede shaft I put together:

Yep, that's how I used to build them for my scalers before people started making metal shafts. Never really had an issue...

The pede shafts have held up well for me in the past. They are strong. I have used them on a few different rigs now and haven't had any trouble.

Yep, the only trouble I've ever had with them is the ears.....with those metal u-joints, I'd just break or twist the ears.

Sweet thanks guys, I had forgotten about the punisher range. Pede shafts it is to keep the back end nice and light.
