| building pede crawler
i have a older stampede trans one of the black ones that i locked with JB and wanted to build a crawler around it. does any body have any suggestions on a chassis and axles? i wanted to use ax10 axles or creeper axles. but i see every body with a pede based crawler uses tlt-1 axles. i have the drive shafts with steel outputs. and for chassis i have seen a lot of them use a homemade or the (newera rock vulture which uses wheely king axles) any other suggestions would be appricated.

i used to have a sw2 and it was awsome. the pede trans is a good trans. but for 35 bucks u can have a new axial trans which is smaller lighter.... stronger? id stick with set of axial axles though, and get a chassis from mayhem engineering , the chassis is somewhat like a sw3 but cheaper and comes in a variety of colors . |

^ yeah, that could work. might be cheaper to just buy an assembled vxl trans, though. i have a pede trans in a custom chassis with wk axles. ive run it with a 35t and nimhs and now its got a 5700kv brushless and lipo. |

thats true, too. the one benefit i see with the pede is the gear cover. but for most applications, that doesnt even really matter. at the time i built mine, the axials werent really popular yet. |

| That's because we were building those trucks before Axial or Venom was producing crawler based axles. The TLT axles are perfectly fine, but there is larger aftermarket support for the Axial axles.

im probly going with axial axles because of the parts avalibility. i removed alot of excess materal from the pede trans and it got considerably lighter so i think it wont afect the COG as much. what spur gears fit the old pede trans the one without the three screws in it. i was looking at the hpi spurs and they look like they will fit.
