| New Indoor Crawler Course...
Well our winters are cold and long!!!!! With the help of Eliminator RC here in Winnipeg and a bunch of dedicated guys we are creating a course to hopefully get our crawlers off the shelves! Here are a few pics of Ryan from ERC and the first load of stone......55,000 lbs! Any thoughts or suggestions? We will be making a wood base for the rock to sit on, no sense putting the rocks where we can't crawl on it. So this pile should be 3 or 4 times larger when it's all said and done. Hopefully if there is enough support we can get another load. |

I made wood frames for my indoor course just to keep the bottom base rocks from sliding around, then just stack the rest on top. Wash the rocks as much as you can before you get them all stacked, the amount of dust that comes off of them is amazing, all that dust limits your traction. Looks like a great start.....and a sore back |

Well got a chance to move the rock around and setup a pallet base...... Needs some cleaning but a couple shop vacs and there should be enough traction to break some stuff |

Ya it was a lotta work tonight but got all of it placed on the pallets... just gotta fill in a few places and clean the rock... then it's time to crawl. We'll likely add another load of rock into it next year and just keep makin it bigger!

The pallet base looks geat. Nice and big with elevation !! It really spread your rocks out well too. X2 on washing the rocks if you have a drain in there. If not, sweep and vacuum them really good, and a garden sprayer of water does the job to knock down dust and wash off chalk. Since you have the room, I'd try to get a few really huge rocks and put them on the floor on one side of the pile. A local indoor course here had about 10 rocks that were from car engine size to truck bed size and it made all the difference. |

Yeah i'm not sure about the drain, we are a little concerned about the floor with the huge rocks really don't want to bust up the floor with too massive a rock. I think we need some more smaller stuff to help fill the big gaps and some of the undercut stuff. |

Thanks guys......I missed the first crawl at the new place I guess as it stands right now it would be 30" x 18" and is about 5" high. If turn out is good the plan is to double the amount of rock.......there is a ton of room available!

Ya I was at the grand opening and it was fun... working on getting the water line thawed out so we can wash the rock off.... so dusty it's nuts. I can tell the traction is there but just needs a good cleaning. We have a few rocks to place better but most of it is pretty good... goes from mild for the scalers to wild for the comp guys. Hoping by this time next year we'll have another 55,00 pounds in there! Just gotta be careful of code up here. We have a few hobby shops that try and make life for these guys hard so everything they do has to be thought out well.

Ya you can use anything for filler to help spread out the rock a bit. I'm actually surprised they didn't break more... Only heard one crack and they are super solid... we stacked them really well though. Ped I'm hoping to hit it up again this sat to do some more tuning on the new rig.
