Default Mounted up some spare TLT tires

Here's some shots of my streched scorpion with my spare TLT wheels and tires, TLT shocks are considered junk by some, I'll mount them and see how they do.

The rims and tires look pretty good and the way I mounted the adapters It'll be easy to swap on some bigger ones later. I'll try and post some action shots as soon as the rain goes away.......

I used a soldering iron and a hex bit the same size as the nylink hex, and some spare wheel adapters that come with HPI rims to make the adapter. I drilled the center with a 1/4 bit, then quickly burned the hex into the adapter. They're a standard 12mm hex so most rims will now bolt on.

I believe that he just bored up the hex adaptors.

Heres a little more detail of how I made the adapters. I'm at work so no pics.....

Hpi rear truck wheels come with 12mm off set adapters for different models. Take those off the plastic trees and drill the hole in the center of them out bigger to 1/4 inch. Take a hex bit the same size as the nylink hex (5/32 I think), pull out the tip on your soldering iron and put the hex bit in so it heats up. After you have enlarged the holes on the wheel adapters with the 1/4 drill bit, place the adapter on something flat and press the heated hex bit through the hole. (do it quickly so you dont melt the adapter, it will litterally be like a hot knife in butter). This will burn the hex shape into the adapter.

The hex was almost the exact size as the nylink hex. The adapter is a snug fit, and the rims have enough off set to not interfere with the steering. Regular 2.2 rims (not TLT like mine) might not have enough back spacing to clear the steering turnbuckle.
