thank you. ill check out yours now
no prob, page 4 was from a couple weeks ago.
haha, new "shrubs"
just plant a bunch of "shrubs" and once it grows, you can call it MJ forest.
j/k man. its looking good! im digging the pond/river. you should dig some deeper holes to be scale valleys and canyons.
i just read your other reply. dig it out about twice the size you want it and get some dirt for compacting from a sand/rock place, and fill it with that once it sets up you can dig it out and you should be good!

ah ok, cool. i definitely like your terrain. haha MJ forest sounds good.

i really want to make some vallys and canyons, i made a small canyon and i have a huge hole from the sand i used for my hll climb. im trying to think of ideas how to make that hole more useful(looks like i have more digging to do). i will have to go see of anybody local has any real dirt that compacts well. i also though about using concrete to make the floor and walls of the canyons. looks like the drt u have holds water pretty well also. i would love to have muddy sections other than in the mud pit.

you can kinda see where the big hole is, its about 3 ft deep and 4ft wide. i kinda filled it with pine needles but still deep enough to get stuck in it.it needs some more solid walls to climb up an out.

if you do concrete, throw a couple bigger rocks down first to make better terrain.
then you can throw dirt on the bottom and still have rocks sticking out!!
any landscaping place can get you what you need!

im lucky since she said i could have the backyard and she wants the front! fine with me lol, she never goes out back anyway

heres an update on the table top add-on
i got two 60lb bags of concrete and some mesh this morning. the two bags didnt really get me that far and kept seeping through the holes. i have to put it on much thicker than i wanted to.
my plan for the added on stuff, i want it to be able to keep a pathway so you can drive up an over and under thru a tunnel leading over to "canyon" aka big hole on the other side. i still have to change a few things so i can accomplish that goal once what i layed down cures.
i probably shouldve put some tar paper down so i could get it thinner.
ive never really worked with shaping concrete before so just about everything im doing is all trial an error. without somebody who knows what theyre doing standing behind me showing me the right way, it can get a little tricky.

sorry for the bad pic ill have another one in a few

Getting the mix just rite is hard, practice and patience is needed for sure. If you can let the mix slide off the trowel and onto the lathe, then don't touch it or try to reposition it at all. Wait till it settles into the lathe on it's own , then smooth it. Alot of the time when you keep messin' with it, it'll just keep pushin' through. Plop it on and leave it.
After awhile I use a broom to put grooves in, then take another brush and dab the crete to put some more natural texture on top. Dip the broom and brush in water to keep them from stickin'

OK, I thinl you have gone way overboard on this just for a scale crawler course... that's probably why I like it!!!

That looks like a lot of fun!

i got bored yesterday and started digging. i dug a ravine. its a cheap and a simple project but knowing me, i will want to improve it so it doesnt look like some trenches.

this is what i did today while waiting for the rain to clear so i can lay more concrete to the table top
