| Can someone teach me how to count coils on shock springs!
Okay, I think Im brain dead. Can someone tell me how to count the number of coils in a springs, Im not quite sure exactly where to start. Some ways I get the right number, sometimes the wrong. Its the coil ends that are messing me up. I dont quite picture what one coil is, I mean I do, but just not enough to count them. Help! Im stupid! |

I usually start at one end, where the "cut end" is and then count from there. Each full circle of wire is a coil, so starting at the cut end count up. You "may" end up with a partial count if the cut end's don't line up. |
