Default 3mm threaded spacers........

i'm looking for a vendor here that had a spacer kit for sale that made the spacers and put them in a kit....but i need him or any vendor that can make custom length threaded spacers in 3mm thread....search turned up crap as it seems like it does all the time ....i did many search's with spacers only and what i thought were reladed words, got a ton of build threads with the word spacers and other words i used in them ....but nothing on any vendor doing spacers, even searched in vendors section with the same dull results ....what i'm looking for are 14 custom made 3mm threaded spacers that are 13.40mm long and no bigger then 6mm O.D. 5mm O.D. would be the tits HELP ! ! ! ........bob

So you want .5275 long pieces drilled and tapped on both ends or do want a male thread on the ends?

The kind of spacer you're describing is called a standoff.

yeah i looked at the standoff's i have and they have a bigger end then the middle part that is too big to use where i need them....yeah i bought some 98mm threaded alum pipe "AKA" axial 6mm links and cut them down to what i needed, but lots of file work to get them the same size now ........bob

Cheap/easy would be to buy the shorter standoffs, then add thin flat washers between the plate & standoff to get the correct length.

yeah i thought bout that too, but i want a cleaner look....i have a plan of using 3/16" brakeline and 6-32 screws if they aren't too much bigger then 3mm hardware....i don't have much room to enlarge the screw holes on the side plates.........bob

I could make the 1/4" OD hollow aluminum tubes to your length, but I'll be dammed if I will thread them.......

I gotta go back and "make chips" on your spool (Calvin is away this weekend....I can get "my" stuff done........)

I would contact a local machine shop if you are really needing the parts to be that specific and dont have the ability to make the parts your self.

i have the threaded alum pipe axial makes cut to size now, 8 i need for my trans and transfer case spacers....i just need to hand file them to 13.40mm and tap the threads in the ones i cut past the threads ....i just look at some 6-32 hardware/threaded rod and it's not much bigger then 3mm hardware, so now i might go with threading 3/16" brake line to 6-32 screws and have smaller dia spacers .........bob

I gotta ask... why not build it with 1/2" channel stock and shim the gears to fit?. Or you could easily plunge cut a box from bar stock if you have access to a vert mill.
