Default SALT WATER Proofing?

I live on Vancouver island, and am surrounded by beautiful, rocky, bouldery, ocean beaches. Some of the best places to crawl feature salt water pools and hazards, that just make you want to play!

Anyone had any experience with running your crawler in/around salt water?

I speculate that it can't be good. Additional tricks beyond conventional waterproofing?

Make sure it is really waterproof. Be sure to rinse it very well after each use. Keep it oiled and lubed. Might want to spray it with silicone spray too.

mmmmm saltwater would be rough on the whole rig i'd hit any metal parts with a shot of wd-40 b4 going out and afterwards that salt would rust some metal pretty darn quick

I live in hawaii. Waterproof the electronics. Every time I play by the ocean I strip the truck down and rebuild it. Pack the axles with grease and spray wd40 on the bearings and the whole truck! If you dont clean it after playing in salt water it will rust and the bearings will seized.

A complete tear down after running in salt water is a must. I live by the ocean on the east coast and the best places to crawl are in salt water areas. I seen what salt water can do to crawlers. The salt will find a way in and start to corrode every metal and electrical part no matter how much water proofing you do.
