High low problem

I have a 1/6th
the front axle is stuck in low
and the rear is stuck in high
Is there a way to fix this?

First try blowing it out with compressed air....

Worked for me when mine got stuck, hasn't been stuck since...

do you mean take it apart and blow out the inside?

No, the axle housings have little vents where sand and debris can enter and clog everything up....

Just blow some high pressure air in the vents (I do this on a daily basis just to keep things clean)...

And if that doesn't work, take the front axle cover off and clean and lube the gear changing mechanism, making sure the two black buttons that the lever hits move up and down freely.

I took the housing off the rear
the gear that switches it into low\high
once it goes into high it doesnt turn back to switch into low
I modified into alltime lowgear

I havent looked at the front yet
it looks like a bigger can of worms

Search guys, it looks like you are allnew to this board, These axles look a little intimidating at first but they are pretty straight foreward and you'd better get used to seeing the inside of them, and how to use the search feature because if you plan on useing your rig for long things will break.
I used to think that if I finnessed the throttle or was very careful when I got into sticky situations then I would be fine but for as careful as I was I still broke the steering pitman and am in the proscess of rebuilding that right now with another fix that is in the ultimate repair guide sticky at the top of the forums.

If you are having problems with your axles. Just take them apart, clean them regrease them and put them back together. If you try just blowing the axle out with an air gun. All you are is moving what ever was in the way. It will get back in the way given time. Best bet is to clear the problem not just move it.

i had the same problem, i just opened up the rear axle and switched it into low and just left it in low. havent had a problem since other than belt slip. but that just takes some cleaning. hope you get it fixed and back on the rocks.

+1. I had same problem as Halfahemi and I opened up both axles, cleaned up the gear selector arms and then it worked again. vbmenu_register("postmenu_296032", true); vbmenu_register("postmenu_296032", true);
