No, the axle housings have little vents where sand and debris can enter and clog everything up.... Just blow some high pressure air in the vents (I do this on a daily basis just to keep things clean)... Rick |

And if that doesn't work, take the front axle cover off and clean and lube the gear changing mechanism, making sure the two black buttons that the lever hits move up and down freely.

Search guys, it looks like you are allnew to this board, These axles look a little intimidating at first but they are pretty straight foreward and you'd better get used to seeing the inside of them, and how to use the search feature because if you plan on useing your rig for long things will break. I used to think that if I finnessed the throttle or was very careful when I got into sticky situations then I would be fine but for as careful as I was I still broke the steering pitman and am in the proscess of rebuilding that right now with another fix that is in the ultimate repair guide sticky at the top of the forums. If you are having problems with your axles. Just take them apart, clean them regrease them and put them back together. If you try just blowing the axle out with an air gun. All you are is moving what ever was in the way. It will get back in the way given time. Best bet is to clear the problem not just move it.
