Just picked up another ton and a half of rock. Hope to have photos of the new addition later this weekend.
Gonna start building more scale stuff to prepare for the next G6 event..(-8

CREEPERBOB 07-02-2011 10:33 AM

NICE AREA YA GOT "thumbsup", WISH I HAD SOME SHADE TREES IN MY BACKYARD. WE HAVE ABOUT 5 OR 6 TON OF DIFFERANT KINDS OF ROCK , BEEN TRYING TO GET SOMETHING STARTED FOR A COURSE, BUT HERE WHERE I LIVE ITS GONNA BE 116 DEGREES TODAY . ARIZONA IS THE HOT SPOT THIS TIME OF YEAR.

Norcal_GIT_r 07-02-2011 10:36 AM

Thanks Bob!!
I feel for you..My folks used to live in AZ..Man it's just too hot for me in the summer. But great in the winter. Have you thought about a tarp type of covering for your crawler spot..May help with the sun?

CREEPERBOB 07-02-2011 10:44 AM

Yeah its hot for about 2 months, but ya can't beat the other 10 months of the year usually. As for a tarp, our area we're gonna set up to crawl will be about 15' x 50' so that would be rough to cover.

Norcal_GIT_r 07-02-2011 10:55 AM

Cool..Nice sized area..I guess you guys just crawl at night.

CREEPERBOB 07-02-2011 10:58 AM

Most comps out here run from early fall to late spring.

Meatwad 07-02-2011 11:03 AM

Wow you live in an awesome area. Trailing through the woods makes for an awesome time "thumbsup"

Norcal_GIT_r 07-02-2011 11:58 AM

Thanks Meatwad!!
I have almost 3 acres so there's quite a bit of scale trail to be had.
I just laid out the new rocks..Now I'm going to test the layout.

New Scale Section Added

I've cleared out some more area and have added some more scale features.
Here's a few photos from this afternoon.

CrAwLeR13 08-14-2011 07:00 PM

Norcal_GIT_r 08-14-2011 07:19 PM

Thanks guys..It's been a lot of fun putting this together.
George, if you guys ever want to comp in another backyard, I'm only about an hour from Sac.

Hyde802 08-14-2011 09:59 PM

That scall course looks killer. Keep it up! "thumbsup"

Norcal_GIT_r 08-15-2011 08:45 AM

Thanks Hyde!!!

Nice! Always like to check out what everybody else is doing. I like the tree bridge. I've been spending a fortune on preasure treated wood & my budget analyst says I'm done buying bridge materials but I can do that for free... more bridges. looks like more of a challenge too. Good work.

I don't have woodworking skills so I use the natural materials on my property for many obstacles.
Here's a few more photos of my comp area where I'm testing my new BWD Dub Mantis rig.

Man, everything looks great Brian! Love the terrain and the woods! I think I need to build a getaway cabin on an acre or two up there in the Sierras. You guys are very lucky and I'm happy for ya "thumbsup"

BTW, where did you get that bumper for your G6'r? It looks pretty beefy and I really like the look too.

Leebo 10-02-2011 05:35 PM

Mr.Moose 10-03-2011 06:09 AM

How are you liking that Mantis chassis so far?
Any major drawbacks?

Thanks Clint!! I just built a new TTC course and I'm gonna make up a G6 training compound this week. Probably 30-35 gates to practice on.
You guys are welcome to come up and use it.
There's property for sale near here.
I bought that bumper in the for sale section.

I'm loving my Mantis. I took a few weeks to get it dialed but now that it is dialed it's really fun and can pull some sick lines.
