Clock the rear away, no steering to worry about. You cant turn the nuckles in the front, so if you play with it too much it will eff your steering up. Heres the rear of my mad crawler. Used stock bent axial lowers as uppers. The bend was necessary like this so it wouldant hit the motor on up travel. Good luck. Let us know what you come up with. We need an exceed section!!! I my front has been reworked with axial and exceed links, but did not clock the axle because I wanted to keep my steering in check.

so i was looking at the axles when i was rebuilding them and i noticed that the axle tubes bolt to the gearbox in a square pattern. that would make it easy to clock. the only irreversible mods to the axle are to cut down the posts for the rear steer plate, and file down a part of the flange to get it to clear the gearbox. the only custom piece that needs fabrication is a bracket to connect the upper link. all the photos have a description of whats going on. the only helk i need is to figure out how to attach the upper link bracket. thanks in advance http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...m/DSC04292.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...m/DSC04293.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...m/DSC04294.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...m/DSC04295.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...m/DSC04296.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...m/DSC04297.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...m/DSC04298.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...m/DSC04299.jpg |

You would only be able to do 90* clocks, that is likely a bit much. I would think 15 - 30* would be better which means drilling new holes.

I discovered the only way is to drill/c-sink new holes in the cases. Really dislike the motor hanging. I'm guessing 20-30 degrees should do it. I'm going to give this a try in the not so near future. Too many mods all at the same time. I will let you know how it works when I get it done. |

i wish the motor was closer to the axle. if you made a new gearbox you could put the motor wherever you wanted.

I have Clocked the rear axle to approx. 35-40 degrees. Difficult to do if you're not accurate at laying out new hole locations. I recommend asking a machine shop to do it for you. I am a machinist and drilled/countersunk new holes then used plastic epoxy to close up old holes and seal axle housing to gear box. If any one is interested, I'll post some pics. Not sure if I'll clock front axle due to battery and servo placements taking up too much room. I am designing a skid plate from 1/16 aluminum for front motor. Details to follow. |

I would appreciate seeing some pics. I am also a machinist so the layout and work shouldnt be too hard for myself either.
