Default Traxxas Trans/HPI Wheely King Axles. Recommended Driveshaft Combination?

OK. I have a hell of a frankenstein vehicle on my hands. I have a "Nitro Monster King" (Basically a gas powered Wheely King). I am converting it to an electric crawler. I have mounted a Traxxas slash transmission in the middle of the chassis, and with the HPI yolks being bigger than the Traxxas shafts, I am having driveshaft issues. I know someone out there has found the best combination of parts, and my searching has brought me no luck. Any suggestions?

i have a r2 trans (5mm output also) in my WK...

what i did initially was use metal stampede yokes to male stampede shafts mated to female wheely king shafts...i just had to use my dremel to file down the slots on the stampede shaft a little so they would "key" in properly and be able to slide...

that worked for a while until they twisted up a bit...then i used stampede shafts off the trans, mated to wheely king female shafts that were cut, so it was just a hollow tube (no yokes) mated to a male wheely king shaft...so it kinda looked like this: (trans) ---==--- (axle)...this gave me proper length and prevented twisting of the tube...this worked great for a long time...

eventually my driveshaft would pop out of the yokes due to being worn out and i got tired of having to fix it all the time, so i put in some old metal juggernaut driveshafts i had lying around...i just drilled out one end a bit larger to accomodate the bigger WK end...works great now, and my drive shaft doesnt pop off anymore...

now i just break the metal axles...lol...good luck...

After a bit of research, It seems that the 5mm yokes that work with the Traxxas 2wd transmissions are the "4927X T-Maxx trans. output yokes": http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDDT2&P=M . The 6mm yokes are the "4928X T-Maxx Diff output yokes" :http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...928X&search=Go . I am gonna pic up some parts tomorrow if I can find them local. So my current plan is to go: Traxxas "Pede" trans. > Traxxas 4927X T-Maxx yokes > 4951X T-Maxx Shafts (Male and Female)> Factory Wheely King Diff Yokes. Will post results...
