Default 4-link a lil different

im trying to 4link a wheely king and was wondering what would happen if i had two parallel links and for the triangulated links i go wide at the axle and come to a point on the chassis. Has anyone tried this, will it have bad driving characteristics?

Can you explain better or draw a pic? Because it sounds like your talking about a set up that everyone uses lol

Upper links parallel to each other will work, but try your best to triangulate the lowers as much as possible to prevent axle sway/steer. Narrow at the chassis and wide at the axle.

And it's not too different. The older CDW chassis' used to run straight (parallel) uppers and the LCC has geometry pretty close to having straight uppers

Triaglulating the lowers only will raise the trucks roll center. This will cause 2 things. First the chassis will tend to want to lean to one side all the time unless running stiffer springs on the shocks. Torque twist will also increase more than what it already has.

You can parallel the lowers and put the uppers wide at the axle and triangle in towards the tranny. Some trophy truck and short course 1:1s are like that.

I've found that torque twist is easier to tune out with upper links that are more parallel. Staggering the mount heights seems to make a bigger difference than when they are highly triangulated. Maybe it's just me.
