Are you refuring to the square white piece that the axle shafts press into? I rounded out the half moon shape in mine many times and was fighting with a way to find a permanente repair. Because I rid myself of the high/low switch and cut down the black selector piece between the two white gears I was able to drill a hole threw the square brass and install a small screw to keep the shaft from turning inside.

Even though the screw is not installed in these pics. you can see how I cut down the black selector and glued it to the main white axle gear.

Yes, The white nylon piece is inside. When it first broke it split down the whole thing and this is when the rounding started. I thought I could fix it with JB Weld but there is just to much torque being applied to it. Some day I may just get some square aluminum and replace this part.

ok my coupler split down the whole thing too. what did you do to put it back together and then put it in the square tubing? i was going to try jb weld but it won't work as you said.

I just super glued the crack back together and after it was dry I sanded the sides down so I could press it into the square tube. I put JB Weld on the axle shafts when I pressed them back in because the half moon holes were starting to round out but it did not hold. They ended up spinning out the nylon any way. Next time I tear into my front axle I will take a pic. of the set screw I installed to keep the axle from turnning.
