Axial is the way to go. A ton of aftermarket and a HUGE following here. You cannot go wrong on the Ax10 or SCX10 Platforms it all depends what you want COMP or Scaler ? Welcome aboard ! ! !

I like losi's for the worm axles. Yes they need love but
I believe it is worth it for thr performance. I also have a creeper but would not recommend that for a newbie.
Oh Yeah! night crawler BND's are now $199.!!

AX10 all day in my opinion. Plenty of them around for cheap and plenty of parts and setup help. Its a great crawler that can grow with you if you decide to progress into the hobby.

both the ax10 and night crawler are great rigs. they both crawl good out of the box but once you get into it the ax10 will have more aftermarket support but so will the nightcrawler so if i were you i would go with which ever one accomidates to your wallet best for now then upgrade later once you feel that you for sure like it. hope this helps,
Bobby

depends on where you live! check your local hobby shop and see what they carry. i've heard rumors that losi is discontinuing the comp crawler, and i bet the night crawler won't be far behind. with the axial you can get any part you want! it's alot easier to go and LOOK at the part instead of buying off the net and HOPING you ordered the right stuff.

i'm a noob to, i bought a axial wraith. i love it! i don't want to scare you, but as soon as you get a crawler you will start modifying it. i don't want to think about how much i have in mine now!!

I'd have to say that this is one of the best answers yet. I hate the fact that I have to order everything for mine. Downtime would be alot less if I had a local hobby shop carrying parts that I need when they break.

You guys are so lucky.... I live in West Cork IRELAND,
if I went into my local hobby shop/store (50mile round trip)
and mentioned Rockcrawling
they'd think I was talking about crawling across a stoney field on my hands and knees while drunk . . .

I to order every thing for the UK or USA...for my AX-10.

As for now, I'm waiting on Li-Po's from Hobbyking (prob arrive next month)
21turn motor / 54t Spur gear / 12t pinion gear from the UK , they should arrive this week some time...

.

it is a decent crawler. its a moa rig (motor on axle) where the ax-10 is a shafty (one motor, driveshafts to the axles). like all of these, your gonna break stuff and upgrade. check out the bully section and you can find out more about the mk42. basically it's a cheap build on good bully axles.

where do you live?
