I used to use McMaster , but their shipping was high.
I ordered 5 - .25 sticks and a sheet from Enco and the shipping was $10 AND 2 packages.

Try your local plastics shop if you have one. I bought my 1/4" delrin from TAPP plastics.

Can't you get HDPE from cutting boards? I've seen a lot of people on here using those. If you're in a hurry, you can usually pick it up local.

Not sure if others have had luck, but I build almost everything in M3 hardware. HDPE is slippery across rocks, but also around screw thread, so I was always stripping out tapped holes.

Interesting. Did you try using Heli-coils (or equivalent)?

I don't know if a helicoil would help much, I'd be leery because its still threaded into the cutting board. Just pull it out instead of the screw. I have had success in the past just building a skid out of 2"x1/8th mild steel flat stock or whatever size would fit the bill and bolting a thinner delrin or even lexan skid to it i could replace easily when it got torn up. And steel isnt that grabby to begin with

Well the Heli-coil has a higher resistance to pulling out because it has a significantly higher cross-sectional area of thread than the bolt does. In other words, you'd have to pull out much more of the base material with a Heli-coil than you would with just a bolt.

Sometimes a water jet outfit will sell you plastic. Some of those outfits cut a lot of plastic. In fact, we have gotten lots of free drops of all sorts of plastic and metals from a couple of different ones.
