Default Complaints?

The wheels are just fine, and how hard do you really think putting 17mm slash adapters on would be?!I personally think the wheels look perfect!!

Ha! I had to do a double take. I didn't even notice till you mentioned it. :P I guess that's one way to keep cost down.

Holy crap! I just now noticed it myself. I figured that was a molding line in the tire, not the dang wheel. Major fail, HPI! I hate 2.2/3.0 wheels on anything claiming to resemble real/scale vehicles, but that would be a huge improvement in this case. I would've preferred true 2.2 wheels on both of these rigs, but I guess if they're going to be racers, the 2.2/3.0 thing is inevitable.

And now that HPI is sweet too, but I hope they are going to make a more SC type wheel/tire combo for it and not that 8th scale buggy tire with a painted rim to make it appear like it has more of a sidewall on the tire and not a low pro.
Are you sure? Looking at the spare it looks like it's just alot of flat sidewall, and still a 2.2 rim.

Nope, Dave still owns it. Jt Stephens has been racing it in the Ultra4 series this year.

Default I like the Axial better

It looks alot more aggressive in appearance, the HPI looks more sand buggyish ,they should've went all out on that HPI and put rear trailing arms then I would've been sold !!Knowing Axial can you imagine the amount of after market support it's gonna have ,I'm Exo'ed all day !!
HPI is still nice !!

Even if it's 2.2 on the outside, look at the inside:

HPI's Mini Trophy Truck had a fake plastic spare. Im sure they did the same for this. It's to cut back on weight.

Looks like the exact same rubber compound as the tires on rig.

But I was saying you can see the back of the rim in the pics above. It's clear to see that it's larger inner diameter.

Looks like the HPI Apache C1 buggy is not in the same class as the Axial EXO. From the below video it looks big, more around the size of an SC8.

"HPI unveils a 1/8-scale electric off-road buggy called the Apache C1 Flux"
