my jeep build up page hey everyone, im fairly new to the whole RC crawling and decided to make my first RC a scale jeep. yes, i know its a nylint :) but tell me what you guys think for my first crawler (like i said, im new... so dont be too harsh). its a 1:18 nylint with removed springs, flipped tires, tummy tuck, custom cage/roll bar, fabbed front bumper, and black rims. i plan on adding a back bumper, or maybe a swing away tire carrier with a spare if i can get another tire to match. i still have to paint the tail lights and other small details to make it look more scale... and plan on making a soft top. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...o/dfca5b38.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...o/89a19809.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...o/045a16ee.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...o/e7f9717d.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...o/f92921b4.jpg |
It is a nylint, but if you get rid of the blue plastic anf 4 link it, the realism will be MUCH better. I like the tube work. |

That looks pretty cool and suprisingly, those do crawl pretty well. I like that tube work as well. It really puts a nice finish to it. |
i like it, 4 link susp. would go a long way in making it look a lot better. why did you do a angled cut on the tummy v. a box cut? |
Roll bar looks awesome, Nice rig! |
That looks realy good love the tube work! nice job very scale! |
you should run the axle wires out of the 4link holes so they dont drag or get cut |
Nice work. Keep at it. Diddo on the roll bar. |
Nice tube work Just take the Nylint drivetrain and replace it with a TLT or a brusier setup IMO look killer with those black wheels |

you could paint the blue control arms black to hide them |
oo, seems like i'm the only one that took the blue arms off to the tummy tuck. i like your car though, and updates? |
cool i live in jax also.http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...a/DSCF1882.jpg not to hijack but heres mine, i painted it black it helps for looks though |
yeah heres an update. i cut the tires (every other row) and painted the arms (though they are beat up and the blue is starting to show again) i also added the springs back for the scale look, but cut them to make it sit a scale height http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...o/6e3ed76d.jpg im probably going to make a smaller front bumper and add a rear bumper . the front one gets hung on stuff easily, even though i think it looks good. i want to do the 4 link setup but i dont know the materials needed and where to get them? help would be appreciated. *EDIT* i am going to attempt to make a black soft top for it. im gonna use the clear plastic from the box for the windows  |
That truck looks pretty cool, man. Great job! |
thanks. can anybody help me with the 4 link setup? |
more pics of the cut tires. they look mean! |
yeah they look shiny in parts because i did one first and a couple of days later i did the others, they just have to get dirty and the shiny will go away sorry for the blurry pics, i have a POS digital cam http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...o/f41dbe68.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...o/4dc55724.jpg |
