Setting up shocks inverted. Tuning help?

Anyone have any tips on setting up shocks to run inverted. I am running scx10 shocks with the shock bladder mod.

I've got Traxxas Alloy shocks ( off a T-Maxx ) fitted to my AX-10 with the Cap Mod done , which are inverted.
30w oil ,stock traxxas springs ,
would work better if I had softer springs .

Rick, do you mean how you get rid of the dead spot when inverted?

I'm pretty sure there will always be a dead spot with the scx shocks if they are upside down. It has to do with the size of the body and the percentage of volume being occupied by the shaft during compression

Yep, I just run 'em right side up.

Yah the dead spot is what I was worried about. I did a shock cap mod with the bladder that is off the traxxas gtr (?) I think. I have limited experience with non bladdered shocks. I thought the bladders would help fix some of this, and I think it has made improvements but I still get a small amount of dead spot.

As far as running them flipped, I am running them on a BJv4 and the stock length was not agreeing with me. I swapped the shaft with a shaft from a set of RTR ax10 shocks and it gave me the length I was pulling for. I then externally limited the shocks so it put most of the shock weight is down by the axle. Anyway I have never tested my theory as to if this helps much or not but it makes me feel better, and thats all that really matters:ror:
