i have a unfinished room in my basement, i should set up a little something down there. its way closer to the bar than my office is.
Shhhhhh, don't tell the inspector No braces to the above joists. The bench on the shop side will be anchored to the floor and the wall, as will the shelving built on the laundry side.

No stripper pole or wall of mirrors!?

I'm sure you'll address this issue in a expeditious manner.
The pole is hidden behind that framed out column. I'll make it quick detach so I can hide it when needed

Nice "build" Josh. I'm sure the attention to detail you gave to the upstairs will certainly carry over to your workshop. And save space for the killer surround system.

I definitely have to figure out the sound system. I am not much of an audiophile but want something I can hear over grinders and compressors and such.

This may show better how I am planning on the benches being. The shelves under the bench top are still a maybe.

Next thing you know, you'll run out of room and need to expand the shop....

Good news is there is another 800 sq/ft next to it that I'm not using currently if that was the case!

Love the new space! I'm a builder by trade, so I love the renovation aspect. Being that it's an rc man cave by design, you can't disappoint us by not giving it some flashy paint and a Giant VP logo somewhere. Nice move separating the washer and dryer from the space. The last thing you want is for your wraith to smell like fabric softener at the comps!Subscribed!

Great work area Harley, a basement is a really nice spot, i gotta get my garage sorted out . I've lived here almost 2 years and only have one small workbench out there, and don't even have my lathe put back together and on it's stand.

I am really happy that this place had a nice basement. The garage is huge as well but not insulated or climate controlled like the basement. A lathe is definitely on my want list, just a little one though.

Nothing like being Underground for climate control

As a fellow basement dweller, I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Nice start.

Looks like a friend is bringing me some paint tonight. If my ankles are recovered enough I'm going to paint one wall (only half way up). I don't feel like wasting the effort of painting below the bench line.

Oh of course the paint is orange.

That could come back to haunt you if you ever move benches or shelves around.
