Default Narrowed Wraith Axle interest?

Hey guys!

After seeing Lars'(Fallout) build thread with narrowed wraith axles, I was inspired to switch gears on my build thread. Below is a link to it.

Im wondering how many of you good folks would be interested in narrowed axles if I offered them on my site www.CreationFab.com ?

Please post your input and feedback. Im working on having HighlandCrawler make axle shafts special for these, so you just have to start bolting on your own hop ups.

If they can be narrowed it stands to reason that they could be centered for a more scale wraith rear?

As long as someone makes shafts to fit the stock axial locker, hell yeah! Maybe even a shaft and axle combo

I have been studying em for the last couple days for just that reason. I think it could be done. But it would rake 2 housings to make 1

I would definitely be interested.

I would love an 8 inch hex to hex OCP. Eww, that didn't sound good...

I'm interested I'm actually working on making a wraith axle that's the same width as the scx axle so I can put it up front for a ocp front axle and a real scale look.. I think I got it figured out now I just have to do the machine work and I'm not sure I can on my manual lathe ... So I'm for sure interested in seeing what you have in store

100% yes. I've been looking at that build thread and debating on if I was going to attempt it myself or not. Looks awesome

I went to Harley's thread and he actually has the dimensions to take 2the axle cases and make the pumpkin centered.

So your plan is to narrow them and offer axle shafts for them?

I'm amazed it has taken so long for this to take off, first thing i thought when i saw them was using the short sides and making a centered pumpkin, nice and short.

I am working with HighlandCrawler on making shafts. But at the moment, I am actually getting a good amount of odd ball requests. So I would offer them for the narrowed sportsman versions. I would have to figure something out for all the scale dweebs.

Yur just offering the housings? Couldn't you just cut down the stock inner shafts and grind a flat spot for the locker?

There would be no stop. But, you could make a small sleeve with set screws to lock onto the shaft for a stop.

You could do that if you want. But the shafts generally taper down to 4mm in the center, so there is less engagement on the locker. But I did that for my sportsman and cut down xr shafts in the front. It worked fine. But I wasn't throwing monster power to it either. So I would only recommend it for mild to light duty applications.
