Help me choose the best knuckle and chub

So what's the best? :lmao: just kidding but I want to make my slash ifs be able to run a different set up then it's bulky set up it has right now, I know nitro 4tech hubs would work but I'm curious as to what other ones would do well since its not solid but ifs, Sounds strange but if you look at the pics it should explain how different knuckles or hubs would fit and work. Trying to see if knuckles with a slant like the ones on the wraith or straight up and down ones like the original ax10 knuckles would be better

Maybe try some of the wraith knuckles? Do you have any handy?

demonoid369 02-11-2012 06:57 PM

No I don't, that's why I'm asking because I don't want to buy knuckles that possibly won't work or do the job correctly,

Got the explanation for you all of your still confused lol I'm trying to find a knuckle that on a ifs will allow 1.9 and 2.2 wheels, without a lot of back spacing, and will have a food scrub radius, had to go back the ar60 insight to get the pic and show what I mean, I want a knuckle that sticks out enough and has a steering arm thats bent like the axial knuckle are, but is also slanted to help with scrub radius. Any ideas?

Mmmm food scrub radius..... anyway I'm pretty sure the wraith knuckles will fit with a little modding. But if all you're trying to do is fit 2.2 and 1.9 wheels what is the problem as it stands? Are they hitting th knuckle? Pics?

demonoid369 02-12-2012 11:47 PM

Ya the stock slash ifs knuckle is extremely close to a 2.2 beadlock kinda rubbing the beadlock ring and I know 1.9 wouldnt fit because the knuckles are bulky. I'm trying to create the same affect the cc-01 ifs does because that set can run 1.9 and even 1.5 I believe, I'm just curious as to what knuckle would work best, a wraith? Cc-01? Nitro 4tech?

Lol didn't even noticed it had said food, meant good lol

demonoid369 02-13-2012 12:12 AM

Taking a closer look at the cc-01 and how it works, would that be a possible solution or would the set up that's shown in the first post be better?

demonoid369 02-13-2012 01:17 PM

Anybody?

Which one? Lol the cc-01 hub and knuckle or the piece of metal and a nitro 4tech knuckle?

Re: Help me choose the best knuckle and chub

The cc-01 knuckles. Looking at mine they look pretty close to the traxxas. Sorry for the late response Spiccoli.

demonoid369 02-19-2012 12:54 AM

Don't worry about it, been trying to find them to compare them to the slash a arm, problem is my lhs doesnt have them so I can't compare if the c hub of the cc-01 would fit inside the a arm, or what mods would be needed to fit the axle shaft in to it

I've got two screws (circled in green) don't want to stay screwed. What can I do? Every pack they are almost totally unscrewed, and I've alredy lost a little but expensive flanged pipe and the bolt holding the tyre

for the knuckle screws, if your stll running plastic knucks and c-hubs, switch the screws out for m3 fine thread screws. if your running aluminum knucks and c-hubs use a little loctite on them. for the wheel nuts, get new ones. the nyloc wears out on them and doesn't lock right after a few removals, and a small dab of loctite on them helps. or you can run some traxxas wheel nuts that have the serrated flange on them.

X2 on what Hoghead5150 said. A buddy of mine could not keep the screws from backing out on the stock wraith knuckles. He went to the aluminum knuckles and now can use a little locktite and has beat the crap out of it for a month or so with out any of the screws coming loose. The time he spent down from the knuckles falling off or trying to hunt down more screws easily on a Saturday night easily paid for the upgraded knuckles.
