Just putting together a BWD whip and all of the delrin chassis parts that accept screws are pre tapped and I'm wondering if its safe to use any kind of thread lock or this just a bad idea?

As stated regular (as in Loctite) Thread Lock melts some plastics. Tamiya sells a thread lock that is safe for plastics. I've been using it for 25 years with no problems. TowerHobbies.com | 87004 Tamiya Thread Lock 10 cc |

heres what the descriptions says....... This is Thread Locking Compound from Tamiya. Must be used on metal or steel items, not plastic. FEATURES: Color is blue Apply thread lock to the threads before installing. Prevents the screws from working loose, which will happen if it is not used. It is very effective and easy to use. Screws can be loosened or removed for maintenance by using extra pressure. INCLUDES: One Tube (10cc) of Thread lock COMMENTS: Do Not use this on plastic, as it will melt the plastic! | |

Look you should have no issues with screws backing out. Delrin is nice in that way.

Delrin should hold well without any locker but if the threads are loose or damaged and you need a better hold, check your local auto parts store for this: http://www.permatex.com/products/Aut...readlocker.htm ![]() |

use nothing, but if you have issues the smallest drop of CA on the threads is perfect in screw into plastic applications.
