Just to clarify, this mod is only good for a car that was modified to use the summit trans but not for an actual summit right?

There are some concerns that the smaller tabs would break off if it was done to a Summit. I personally have not tried it, but feel it would hold up just fine. I've been running the mod in my SCX over a year now, have recently converted it to brushless and it still has given me no problems.

Ok, I haven't done the mod yet but I will post the results if I do it on my summit.

This is one of the little things that bugs me about my Summit. I may have to give it a try and see how long it holds up.

Maybe you could carefully remove the bars between half the small holes, allowing one to keep the larger tabs. There'd be a *little* slop still, but far less than the half turn it currently is. Of course, that'd weaken the gear more.
