Working on some drawings to have the pieces cut. Should be moving forward slowly soon.

My girlfriend is a biologist and works all summer out in the field setting up and tearing down traps. Long story short she uses this cart on a daily basis and I have a couple pieces of advice for you concerning it.

The bearings are junk. My advice is to replace them right away instead of waiting until your out far from your car and a wheel goes out.

The stance is not wide enough. Even without piling too much on you'll find yourself trying not to tip it over. Any kind of turn on an incline and boom all your shit's on the ground.

Also if you do widen it any pics and info on how you do would be great. I told my lady I would widen hers before the summer. Trouble is that it's 300+ miles away so any knowledge beforehand on what I need to do would be greatly appreciated.

I have one of these I have used for years. One thing you might want to think about is adding a parking brake, I have been in a lot of spots that I had to put it up against a tree or find a rock to stick under the tire.

I think some of the newer carts have those twist lock wheels no?

I haven't seen any with 10" pneumatic tires and wheel locks.

I'm digging this, I have to agree you might want to look at some width. I had one similar that I used to haul rocks in my yard and it would tip ever time I turned. I may work on something similar to this, I like the idea. Mine would probably just be the stock cart piled with crap on it tho.

Also I'm not sure how tall you are, but extending the length of the handle would decrease the angle and make pulling it easier

Why don't you just buy one of these and be done with it.

"Allowed" is a funny word. It all depends on the size of your basement.

If you haven't started cutting it up yet, you should just return the thing. Seems like a set of expensive wheels to me. Just design the thing like you want.

I know exactly what you mean but it helps the process go more smoothly to have the base; even if it all gets pitched.
