It's that non lipo. When you bind up and start cranking on your throttle, it over draws your batteries to where they can't provide the amprage.

Voltage applied, motor turns, gearing (spur & pinion) & rig weight all have an effect. A low turn motor and/or high gearing (more than ~5:1 pinion to spur) can make for "road speed" but kill torque. Using NiCD or NiMH packs is not bad, but they are big & heavy compared to LiPO. Crappy pack connectors (Tamiya is among the WORST) can also kill power. | |

Heres an update what I have done. I switched to a 11.1 lipo batt and now its faster than a wrath and still I have no torque. Do I size down the mane gear or the diff's? The motor came with a box of parts, I have know idea what it is but it was in a standard scx10 frame. It seems to be a bit longer that the factory Axial "can". As for binding I have a little from the rear I cant seem to get the pinion angle right.

Yeah dude, sumthins outta wack. Even with your gearing all wrong, you'd be able to climb. You might have to goose the throttle, to get your rpm's up, and your motor would get hot quickly, but climb you would. This is electronics, i think.

What gearing are you running on the spur and pinnion? What motor Specifically? I suggest a 35t to start with. |
