I have an ax10 with xr10 mod using vp xr10 knuckle, and am interested in the hd version of universal. Which one should I get? Axial or xr10?

how long are the Super Berg HD´s. like the normal 300`s or longer.
The builders set is the same as any other set except for the fact that the inner shaft doesnt come with a drive tang on it. you will have to cut your shaft to length and then with a dremel or a belt sander carefully sand/grind your own drive tang. You will want to do this with care to keep it square and centered, as well you dont want to get it hot to the point that it discolors as that will de-temper the shaft

Super Berg HD's will be the same length inner as the Original 300 super berg inner.

sorry but it's not very clear for me
Your XR knuckles should work fine though the large double arms may not allow all of the steering you are hoping for. depends on your setup. As well I have only test fit stuff with Wraith pieces! Though dimensionally they should be the same where it matters

I just talked to William(RCBro) to make sure he didnt have a wraith knuckle out that I didnt know about. He only makes a standard berg knuckle. With that setup you could run a Berg/Berg Original 300, or you will need to get 8* Axial or wraith/xr C's and some wraith/xr knuckles to run the 300HD's. In short your current knuckle setup wont accomadate the HD shafts

I would assume that you are using stock xr10 inners now, so you would use hd xr10 shafts. When using xr10HD's you will retain your stock locker.

I've offered to help John with this in the next coming days or a few weeks. Without seeing these things in person, its hard to give it justice, but a few HD videos and high quality pictures should do the trick.

Hey John, any plans on offering straight axles? We could really use some 300M straight axles on the market.

What would need to be done to run the 70* with NON 8* king pins on a Berg?

Most that use the full 50 in my original shafts don't have steering stops, thus causing shaft breakage by over steering. That is one reason. In my 2.2 s truck I can use 72*, though I won't argue it takes a lot of innovation

my set up right now is Dlux tubes with the VP 8* "C"s and knuckles and super 300 axles

Build a knuckle that would support the length of the joint like a wraith knuckle

If youre adapters work for Axial 8* could I just not get a set of Axial NON 8* and then use the adapters on there?

Your super 300's work with Axial NON 8* and VP 8*, so would this not be the same line of thinking?

I haven't had a chance to do fit meant on the stubs to know what you would have to do exactly, though sometime after the weekend I may look at it

So I guess that you are asking if you can put a 8* knuckle on a non 8* C. Not thinking that's gonna work out well for ya, though I won't say it can't be done

As far as thinking I'm not sure what you're thinking. You are confusing 2 different knuckle styles all together . You can't run my original cvds in a wraith knuckle. So why would you be able to put something I've said several times is designed for a wraith knuckle into an Axial style knuckle?

Ok, I see now. I was confused by using Axial C's with Wraith knuckles, I thought you could use Axial 8* knuckles with them. What you said below looks like you can take a Axial 8* knuckle and use and adapter that works like a Wraith knuckle IMO

I agree with Erik, it might be helpful to change the description of the 'adaptors' to say they are basically a top hat with a spacer attached to take up the size difference between AX10 8* and Wraith/XR10 8* C hubs.

Also Erik something like felsenfest knuckles with a longer distance between the bearing and the kingpin hole would be all that is required to use a standard ax10/berg C hub from what I can tell. I think egressor even made a set at one stage to use XR10 uni's on a ax10, maybe I was imagining it though.

EDIT found it http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axles...ml#post3024421

Also does the XR10 set use a axial style drive tang or your usual berg style?

Kieren
