Traxxas calls the e-Pede's tranny a "272 Magnum". The 272 refers to the tranny's internal ratio of 2.72:1.

If I remember right the E-Maxx tranny ratios are 28.9:1 in 1st and 17.9:1 in 2nd.

Jason is that the final gear ratio of an Emaxx?

I have the internal ratio of the emaxx tranny at 2.77:1 in 1st and 1.72:1 in 2nd. If this is right and I think it is, that would mean with your ratios is would have a 66t spur and 21t pinion or somewhere thereabouts(I have xfactor axles which are 3.73:1 r&p compared to a maxx's 3.3:1 r&p)

CRAWLOVERYOU, regardless of what it is, the gearing between 1st and 2nd are not spaced far enough apart to have a low enough 1st and high enough 2nd. The difference in speed is marginal at best for rock crawling use, IMO.
