Default Got a question about homemade links

All thread 8/32 right? Brake line 1/4 inch?

But the main reason was when you guys make links for any crawler

What determines the bend or degree?

Is it done with a gauge free form and to make opposite side do you bend at the same time?

Im planning on making some for my lnc and had some questions and do the front get a bend as well?

I do have some 101mm 30* links but think they are too short

Also on your bends does you wheel base from front to rear shorten or do you try to stay the same overall length but bent?

Sorry for alot of questions bit was curious

I've never made them, but seeing as nobody has answered any of your questions I will try and help. From what I have read, 8/32 all thread is correct. I've also ready that you want 6mm brake line, but converted into inches 1/4 is the closest you will get.

I've never dealt with bent links before so I don't have a clue about those questions. I guess if all thread and brake line are cheap enough, just start at it, and if it's wrong try it again.

If you've already figured it out on your own, post up what you've learned so that anybody else searching the threads that need an answer to these questions can come across this thread and learn

Easiest way that I've tried is just using all thread to get the geometry your looking for and then remake everything with the tubing. As for the bent links, there probably is a formula for the bent length but I just cut them long and trim the ends to the correct length.

Hope It helps
