Axial Racing - SCX10

It's definitely not any stretch of vehicle dynamics innovation this time around. But...it is pretty darn scale compared to the honcho or dingo in that it's based off a real rig. The front and rear bumpers are pretty cool looking (probably plastic I know) but for first time scale truck buyers, this rig is a starting point that many honcho and dingo buyers don't get to until after the first or second phase of modifications (i.e. how many jeep rubicon scx10s are there out there...a lot ).

Remember guys, we are not out of the woods on the US economy. Even though a lot of the guys from Axial stayed when Hobbico bought them out, I'm sure the R&D budget is severely reduced and "new innovation" had to be tabled for a while until the global economies straighten out a little bit. I work in product development and 2012 was a rough year. We've had to de-scope and re-scope or stop many projects because of the uncertainty of 2013.

Now off my soap box:
I'm really interested to see if the tires are any good and if axial will come out with a 2.2 version at 5.5 to 5.7 in tall. If they are, they would look pretty nice with some CI foams on my Wringo.

I like it. Think its pretty cool. Would have been even better if they gave you d-rings on the rear bumper too.

A Traxxas move? Are you refering to the best selling RC brand with some of the best selling products? Man I can only hope we can get to that level in crawling at some point.

You mean by releasing a truck with huge mass market appeal that will sell really well to people outside the hobby?

I dig the new pieces, the rear bumper/tire carrier looks sweet! The officially licensed body is an awesome step for Axial too! Those new tires look really nice and scale as well. Axial stepped everything up IMO.

Looks like a great truck to buy. I'll have to have one!

That was a COOL video! And a bad ass concept as well.

I dig this truck! Is that a CMS I see under there too? And those look a lot like Trepadors!

I see alot of changes as far as bumpers and cage work go. And the tires look a heck of alot better than the ripsaws. But to me it just screams Dingo. Maybe its the silver paint.

I can appreciate the scale realism but I'll never own one.

Does this mean people will stop buying new bright jk's for $70 and selling the body for $100+?

I'm going to get one. I'm just saying that I would like to see what we posted here. That's all. Axial ask some of use to build some rigs the way they want with parts from a couple rigs. Wich I'm very happy to do. But maybe after we the builders build something they ask us to do, put something like it into production. That's all I'm saying. I love axial. And will always buy and build with their products. Just think it would be nice to see them ask us what we want then build it. Kind of like Pit Bull does with tires.

i like the new body and bumpers but it is a honcho. 12.3 wb. been wanting a new one anyways so i will get it. i am still waiting to see what else they have coming out. with the xr-10 disco they must have a new comp rig that they are sitting on.

would have been nice if they would have added a factory cms. it is 4 linked front and rear...axials gallery shows some good pics and a bad photoshop pic

watching the vid makes me wonder what all they did to it other then the 5000mah battery. and how many "hand of god" they used...lol

I think they have been listening. Why not give it a few days and see what other cool items are made and developed for the new style of rig.

Damn, wish we got the memo on scalers on the way out. I guess we should stop making all the new cool stuff we have in the works.
