Default Shock setup question

This might be a dumb question. I tried searching found nothing. Maybe I'm searching wrong.

But anyway, when setting up shocks, it seems to be either non droop or droop only. Is there a reason we don't use a semi droop setup? Ie, some up and down travel like in a 1:1? It keeps a LCG but not limiting suspension travel. Maybe somebody can school me here. As I am a newb. Thanks.

edit: this is more or less about comp rigs, not scalers. it might apply to scalers, but i dont actually know that as i dont have one.

Gmade makes adjuatable droop shocks , integy makes droop shocks . Or you can go ghetto and cut a few coils off your springs and reposition shocks to get your ride height back. But without an internal spring , cutting coils gives droop but unloads as you throttle up.

Ive ran like that before , with good results , after a few packs I got used to it and was able to judge it better. Using a heavier shock oil helped a lot with unloading.
I'd still look into some droop shocks for a better tuned suspension.
