Thunder Tech CVD's and Thunder Tech Adapters Has anybody had any issues running TTR CVD's (new ones) and TTR adapters? Right now I have the CVD's and 12-14mm adapters with the 23mm kit and I have Moabs on beadlocks. After getting my truck finally running, Ive noticed that one of my back wheels was spinning and the other wasnt. Ive found that my adapers can turn on the CVD hex under a good amount of torque. If others are haviung this issue, what have you used to successfully stop this? I want to do something before it strips badly. Was thinking JB Weld or epoxy. I dont know if anyone from TTR will see this, but does anyone know if there will possibly be aluminum hexes mad for the CVD's? Thanks, Jason |
Jb Weld is what you need. I talked to the maker of the CVDs for a long time over the phone. No way they are coming out with different hexes. Something about it costing a ridiculous amount of money to make. I talked to them about making a Maxx hex for the CVD's guess they make more money and suit people better by selling adaptors. |
Yeah, they seem to have the ambition that if it works for them then it works for us, lol. O well, to the shop I go... |
i dont have these cvd's but is the wheel spinning on the hex? if the hex has a pin in it how is it spinning on the axle? or am i just missing this all together.   |
It stretches the hex on the wheels out and literally spins. |
I am running cvd's with rc guy 14mm adapters and 23mm adapters on those with moabs. I am having no problems with the adapters, I have got the truck bound right up with no issues. Tim |
im running cvds and Ace's adapters.. solid as a rock!!!! |
yeah the TTR adapters are a bummer. make your rig way to wide in my opinion. RCP crawlers are working on a solution for this problem. keep your eyes peeled for it! in the meantime, i'm using ace's adapters and they work great! |
