Default Slick Strips

I just recently put a aluminum bottom plate on my crawler. While I like it, it does hang up more than the original plastic one. That's where Slick Strips come in. I have been using this stuff for years now on my woodworking tools and thought, why not give it a try.

What a difference, super slippery and lasts a lot longer than you would think. If you warm it up a bit, it becomes very malleable. (Enough to wrap around axles)

Here are some pics and where I buy it. (I'm sure you could find it other woodworking stores too)

Buy Slick Strips 3 Width at Woodcraft

I'm sure you can find it cheaper also.

Nice find, great how people "cross use" items from one craft/trade to another.

This is a UHMW-PE (Ultra High Molecular Weight - Poly Ethylene) self adhesive strip.
The abrasion resistance is similar to Delrin.
Teflon (AKA PTFE) is great in "slipperiness" but is easily scored.
Nylon, Delrin & UHMW-PE are a bit better in "toughness".
