Talking Voodoo Mold is DONE

The mold is done! The first tire designed by RCC members is almost here! Here are a few photos (from the factory...remember, they're engineers, not photographers)

Looks like it gonna work, plus no real need to shave the tires(hate the mess and smell it makes) so that's a plus and a little lug cutting and they'll be perfect. I might have to look into a set.

Gotta get them mounted now.

Look really promising! Will they be ready in time for me to run a new comp rig?

The factory is going to send me pre-production samples next week. Once I give them the OK, we should have our first factory order in a few weeks or so.

Also, I may be adding a 3rd team compound...don't know yet for sure, but if I do, we'll have 5 compounds to choose from

I hear that...but in this day and age of hyper dialing in our rigs, rc crawling has become less sledge hammer and more surgical. However, I'm not sure about the 5th compound just yet.

With the crawling market the way it is these days I think 5 compounds is a bit excessive, but either way I'm excited about this new tire. It's looks really good.

There are two options I've been thinking about: Adding a team compound to bridge the gap between the 2 team compounds and the two standard compounds OR add a firm standard at the other end of the spectrum. A lot of drivers have been asking about a firm tire the rear, so we'll have to see how it plays out.

Judging by the number of preorders, I'm not worried about the crawling market as it stands right now

Hey, are you saying engineers can't be photographers. LOL..
Just messing with you.
Those actually look pretty good, when compared to some of the pictures my co-engineers have taken. LOL
The pre-mold samples look great.
Can't wait to get a set of two in my hands for some testing.
