3Racing winch mounting.

I wasn't sure where this question belonged, but can anyone with the 3Racing winch get me an accurate measurement of the center-to-center distance of the mounting holes, and are there 2 or 4? If there are 4 I need the same measurement from a front hole to back hole.

there are 4 mounting holes, sorry wont take mine apart to measure . maybe someone else will chime in.

Haha, no worries. I wasn't expecting anyone to go above and boyond for this. Hopefully someone has one laying around that they could measure up for me. The reason I ask is because I plan to get one, but for now I'm just going to mount a couple light pods, and to prevent my bumper from turning into swiss cheese I was going to space the holes for a winch in the future.

I only have the 1/10th ones if thats ok .

It's nice to have (4) additional approximately 1/4" access holes drilled under the winch plate for access to the actual winch screws, so it can be removed easier than having to remove the which mounting plate first (those 2mm bolts / nuts can be a bear to get to at times).

The 1/4" is based on the diameter of your screwdriver.

Thanks, yes 1/10th is what I'm looking for. A ruler is fine as long as you have good eyes. If you can, get the measurement within .5mm.

Yikes, they use 2mm hardware? Better get that measurement down to the closest 0.25mm now, Haha.

if you have the stock scx bumber , the dimples in it will give you the measurements

Ok , Narrow inner holes . 2.7mm apart and width of 9mm
wide outer holes 4.3mm apart and width of 8.5mm
All are center to center with a ruler . Hope they're good enough dude

Thanks a ton. Those are good enough, but I'm not sure I understand the layout of the holes since I've never seen how they mount. Are those 2 different sets of 4 holes?

Stupid typo's , stripping 2 cars and ordering things while measuring doesn't help .


the inner winch mounts are
0--------------0
| 9mm |
0--------------0 26mm or 2.6cm

outer bolt mounts are
0-------------------0
| 9mm |
0-------------------0 43mm or 4.3 cm

I'm with my son at his karate class but if you dont have whagt you need I can get it for you in a few hours. I love my 3r winch. If you want to look at it some time before you order let me know. We also started carrying them at Hobbytown. I think there were 2-3 still in stock the other day.

I gotcha, thanks again. Looks like I'll be doing the 26mm holes, 43mm spaces the lights out to far.

Thanks, I think I got it now. I'm mainly getting it for looks more than anything, but it's good to hear it's a nice winch.

Our HT carries aftermarket crawling winches eh? Is the crawler scene expanding over there?

Slowly but surely. I havent been able to work there in a couple of months due to the railroad keeping me extremely busy so I'm not up to date on it. I'm pretty sure they are going direct through Axial in stead of going through Tower but talk to Paul and he will let you know what he can get. I think he can do vanquish stuff too. I hope they can get that section to take off though. I'm going to do what I can to help with it.
