4WS Wraith New to me

I'm new to Crawling but not to RC. I came from 1/8 nitro racing. I recently picked up a used 4WS Axial Wraith. I traded for a dx3r which i'm waiting for so I haven't yet got to mess with the rig. I was told it has the ability to crab walk but I'm curious to know what kind of other stuff its capable of doing, and how to unleash those.

Wraith specs:

Redline 13.5 Brushless
Mamba Max Pro ESC
4x 2200 3s batteries
Front battery plate kit
Complete vanquish titanium link kit
Metal trans gears
MIP driveshafts
Custom front and rear lockers
ST-RC aluminum knuckles and c-hubs
2 Hitec 7950 servos
2 Castle BEC's
Delrin beadlock wheels with soft ripsaws
Lowering kit
Spektrum SR3100 3ch Receiver

Thanks for the help.

Rear steer should be able to go straight, crab, oppose, and adjust the % of rear steer. I can do this on the Futaba 4PL, just not sure on yours.

Rear steer depends on how you set it up.

I have a friend with rear steer on a toggle switch that is not proportional, 1 position rear steers max left, center pos is centered & last position rear steers max right.
This is one way that allows you to have rear only steering (not proportional)

Mixing your rear steer servo with the front steering servo will give you proportional rear steer (follows front steering) but you will have to pick the rear following front or opposite front & it will be full time.
With that radio (3 pos or 2 pos 3rd channel) you can use a heyok controller that will allow you to switch from locked rear to crab (proportional) to opposite (proportional) with your 3rd channel.
The Heyok set up looks like the best most economical & versatile set up I can find for the basic

I was looking at the heyok controller and was prob going to get it. do you buy the whole controller from him or just use my controller and his harness? I'm kinda lost on that

Heyoks controller plugs into the receiver & the servos/bec plug into it.

Look through the threads & there should be more detailed wiring & setup.

It would not be a bad idea to just plug the rear servo into your bnd port.
When you power on the servo will center & hold there until turned off.
If you do something like this you can run with the setup you have only steering in the front for a while and see if you want 4ws. Many want it till they drive with it then toss it.
Couldn't hurt to wait a bit before diving into the 4ws.
I change my mind & set up for a while till I get what I want (often far from what I started out wanting.)
