Default Gmade diaphragm shock ?

Just got some 75mm built for a fairly light scaler. They are way too firm - don't even compress when I flex it. I have 3 hole pistons and the oil that came with them. Should I get some light weight oil to help? Thinking like 10-15wt and some softer springs. Even without the spring the shock only compresses about halfway. Thanks.

You might have too much oil in them.

That will make most shocks seem like they are "internally sprung" even to the point of not even compressing all the way...

if it has a diaphragm it should have a vent in the cap in wich you should leave partially open to vent the air above the diaphragm. whats happening is if its sealed then the compressed air inside the cap is acting like a spring and forcing the shaft back out of the shock. you need to have the cap vented a little so the air can be forced in and out of the shock so the oil can do its job. your oil is probably correct but if the caps not vented it wont work right. got a pic of the shock? or what model and i can look it up online and see what it is.

just found the manual for your shocks. you might have it in the high pressure setting. bout half way down the page shows the two setting and how to do them.
