I only saw them mentioned in a Losi comp shock thread, so don't know about SCX fit. Any one have any info on Egressor-type delrin bodies yet?

Kyosho makes some low friction o-rings like that for their Velvet shocks. I've noticed leakage from using those and have stopped using them....

I sent a pm in the last week about the egresor body's and didn't hear back. I've been a big bore guy up to now. Ordered the scx shocks and they don't seem like they'd hold up to my abuse. If anyone has a bead on a new set or where they can be had, please post it up. Thanks

Well someone tell RCBro to get on it. I bet and scale guys would buy them just for a better shock option.

Well leave it to Fallout to spill the beans hahaha. It is indeed true. I was given the opportunity to purchase the rights to make the Egressor delrin bodies shocks. Due to everything else I've recently taken on it has taken longer then expected to get them made. For this reason I've kept it on the DL. However, the machinist has begun the process. I was able to see about 30 sets last night. The outsides are done and look beautiful. The hard part is left. I don't have a direct ETA but he is working on them. For those wanting a set soon. I'd recommend picking up donor parts such as shafts, pistons, caps, seals, shock collar etc... For those willing to wait. I will try and offer a complete package once we get rolling! |

Nice. Thanks for picking them up. Once you get up to speed will you be a one-stop shop for the pieces we need to build the shorter lengths too? That would be a great service, even if we had to cut down the bodies ourselves. 3" quality shocks seem hard to come by. |

Yes, eventually I will be a one stop shop. Just a matter of waiting for things to come in stock for me to scoop up the inventory and getting the funds back to do so. I've had a bad habit of spending every dollar of profit for new and cooler things for both you guys and myself. If I need it, I tend to want to make it. It's not so good for my wallet, but hey, the more the business spends, the less I pay in taxes haha. The gears set me back some ponies, but now that we're beginning to sell them, it's freeing up what is needed to bring cooler items to everyone. Last edited by RcBro; 07-13-2013 at 08:04 PM. |

| Re: Tech Thread -- SCX10 shocks Slightly off topic of SCX10 shocks, but I bought 8 110mm shocks from HobbyKing, and before you guys flame me, I know they not the best quality, but it's for my Bullhead Basher. Anyway, when they arrived, 3 of the 8 couldn't be compressed more than halfway. I stripped all 8, changed the oil, and positioned the shaft in the middle before closing the shock cap. All I can say, it I'm going to be building my shocks like that again in the future. The "neutral" position is great when you finish off the shock with the springs. And in my belief, my SCX10 articulates a lot easier now after doing that...

I don't have much experience shock tuning. On an AX10 sporty, 5-lbs, soft springs, should I just start with 30 wt fluid or what's a good starting point? Then what do you look for to decide to go heavier or lighter? Anyone know of a good link for shock tuning information? Last edited by Hardline; 08-14-2013 at 01:04 PM.

I run Egressor body on my SPM rig, its great and leak free. I do it with no bladder, but will put in some next time I rebuilt it. Check out this thread. I hope Hulksta does not mind... Crawl ANZ - View topic - Pro rig shock Tech |

That's an excellent link -- thx for posting. What benefits from bladders? If you want to run the shock inverted, bladders will keep the air bubble off the piston. But it must be a lot of trouble ensuring you get all the air out. Is there any reason to run them with the shock upright? Now the piston is at the bottom, far away from the air bubble. |

Bladders when used with a vented cap reduce the pressure that is created when the shock shaft displaces oil in the body as the shock is cycled. This reduces the rising rate and helps prevent leaking.
