My tamiya cc01 makes a bad grinding sound in the rear diff. Its drives fine with only front wheel drive but when i put the drive shaft back on it grinds again. Ive checked the rear diff gears and ive cleaned, greased them but i cant tell if they are striped or not. And i know its the rear because all the other gears work and look new ! Please help me |

Did you shim the pinion? Often times that is what the grinding is caused by. Replace the gears if the gears are worn, or broken.

Shims are to adjust gear mesh. The pinion gear is small one in the axle, you put shims, (i used .5mm) put them on the shaft between the bearing(bushing) and pinion to push the piniom into the big gear(ring).
