| phase 1 prototype
my first using my frame JIG so invested in some tool's to make my cages better for me. I started building these in the back yard with nothing but a hack saw, lawn chair and a camp fold up table, and a Home Depot brazing set so here it is about 10 years later, and still hooked on doing crawlers (but just only started showing on the RCC web site for a short time what I"ve done the last one) nothing to fancy, but will get me started this is one I did before the rjg, didn't like it and never finished (traded to KMS). so I was always trying to fine the best way in building these, and always wanted to build a jig( because of the heat warp from brazing). But it was always out of range, because the locale mechanic / mechanist wanted way to much to build one for me. so long story right. wrong started to deal with the sale/wanted section here in the last few months, and guess what happened. 'S still have to learn and build off this thing but cool none the less. Alot more parts have to be done to be able to complete a full rig. but way to happy right now to care. thanks a hole lot to KMS for the set up Last edited by silver falcon; 07-14-2013 at 02:04 PM. |

Nice looking chassis. What are you using to make the bends, they look really clean. |

just some home made benders 12'' C channel with a 3/4 square handle with different washers/ bolts welded to make the bends (different sizes). that's not one I'll be taking any pic's of. mainly pretty easy bender to build | |

| Re: phase 1 prototype yep. not really ended up packing up and moving closer to work. did get a bit done though before the move. still have stuff in storage (mainly all of the rc's). so will be slow for a bit untill I have time to go threw it. kinda didn't have time to sort so in bags/boxes it all went

couple pic's of what has been done so far, not much but will give a little idea of were the cage is headed in as for a design and overall look not to sure of the rest of the cage might combine a few different rigs to come up with a different look rather than trying to copy just one rig. so if any one has a cool looking southern build post up pics. so I can kinda steel ideas from them thanks for looking Last edited by silver falcon; 07-14-2013 at 05:33 PM. |

good start like the body robert (KMS). one thing though is their nuts on the back you can bolt the body to. thinking you could cut the back of the body a bit to fit the cage better. but cool none the less |

| Re: phase 1 prototype I wont be using The body in the pics It belongs to Heyok,,shipped it today ,,But the bolt holes on the bottom front ,,line up,, thats enough for me .And yes I agree the rear of the body would need to be shortened.
