SCX10 stainless driveshafts....

Ok folks, here's a really cool looking part that I'm wondering if anybody has any info about:

http://bit.ly/18eDTtc

They look really awesome and my Jeep Rubicon RTR ones lost the setscrews so I gotta do something. I'm really new to this so I'm open to any reasons why these are or aren't good. Thanks for the help.

I wish they had a CV joint instead of U joint. I would probably buy a set.

Ok well I kinda feel like for that price I can't go wrong... But I have looked and looked.....and I can't find if these will work for my rig. I need to replace front and rear on the scx10 Jeep Rubicon RTR.

Re: SCX10 stainless driveshafts....

Oh for $34 shipped I think you can go wrong all right. Looks to me like non-rebuildable, can't get parts for, throw away when a U-joint fails junk. But, at least they are shiny right?

Do it once, do it right. Save up for the MIP's. I'm slowly converting my fleet over to the MIP's as I can afford to.

Some people seem to have good luck with the Junfac/G-made shafts. I have a set, they sit in the toolbox after being abused for about a year because the slip section is a D-shape that binds horribly when under torque and I could not keep the pins in them to save my life. Red loc-tite and double layer heat shrink around the pins and they would still come out in less than an hour of use.

Maybe I'm just hard on equipment though...

I vote for MIP drive shafts.

I agree with the mip's also.

Thanks a lot guys. I will just spend the $$$ and get those MIPs. I was hoping to find something a little more unique cuz it seems so many people do run those, but I also don't want to be replacing them again so....

I've seen a ton of Promise Hobby items all over eBay...used to be just junker hobby grade imitations now I guess they're trying to get into the crawler scene. Not sure on their quality but I don't trust anything out of China for r/c stuff unless its a facility backed by a larger well known company or with warehouses stateside for fast replacements. I have never had to use any rebuild kits on any of my rigs running MIPs. Not to say all stuff in Asia are bad...just China has a reputation we all know about lol...

Ranges from emaxx brushless basher, 2 scx10s, my sporty running MIP in the rear Junfac carbon steel shaft in the front, Slash 4x4 PE on all 4 corners second basher rig, both my 2.2 and 1.9 Wraith, my custom 11 pound KOH rig Lucifer, and my TF2.

Running 3s all the way to 6s on that list...never any problems!

I had one OG Junfac shaft before they were carbon steel which actually snapped the pin on the axle side while trying to reverse out during one of my first comps with my shafty rig. I'd say go MIP even used is fine just clean them up if they're really dirty and keep them lubed and smooth after Loctite the grub screws.

Will the MIP's work with the Jeep Rubicon? Their description says they won't. MIP Spline CVD™ Center Drive Kit, Axial SCX10 #10145

I pretty sure these are integy. I had a set for my shafty awhile back, not a pos drive shafts. But MIP are 10X better, imo.

If it's the Axial Rubicon then they'll work. You'll be getting everything from transmission to axle.
