I have look in alot of places and i couldnt find what i was looking for. How should I adjust the gear mesh with a 32 pitch Steel slipper and 32 pitch Hardened steel pinion?

I always do mine by eye and feel. There should be some play not alot and check in a few spots on the gears

Try a piece of paper between your gears and tighten it as much as you can. Usually that's enough backlash for good gear mesh...

I set it by feel at least on 3 different positions on the spur gear. Just a little play and lock it down.

By eye and feel. Get the gears as close together as you can without them actually touching.

x2. Turn the gears so one tooth is aligned with the valley on the other gear. You want them as close as possible without touching.

32P is easy, 48P is another story all together.

+1, 64P is even trickier, we use them in 12th & 10th carpet cars.

Until you learn the "feel", a strip of regular paper between the 2 gears is a good start. Loosen the motor screws, paper between teeth, squeeze motor to spur, tighten screws.
Rotate the spur to 3-4 different places to make sure there are no real tight or loose spots (paper removed). You almost can't see the play when done correctly, but you can feel it when rocking the spur gear back & forth. Spur gears tend to not be round/concentric, thus checking them in a few spots.

X2 ^^^^

64P is by far the hardest to deal with. But the little plastic bag the gear comes in works pretty good if you push them together as much as possible...

I have tried the paper trick way back when and thought it was just a headache. Just close the gap as much as you can but so you can still be able to feel the the gap when you rock the spur.

Or go buy a pan car and practice on 64p.
