What would you buy if...

What would you buy if you wanted a competition type crawler for backyard crawling courses and competing with friends?

I really want to be able to do more than my MRC can do but there is no real crawler competition scene here where I live so I don't need some crazy top of th e line money is no object rig. I would just build up my MRC but the aftermarket support has just disappeared for it so I'd rather step up to a 2.2.

Your suggestions are very much appreciated.

Pro or sporty?

A Losi Comp Crawler or Night Crawler, but again you run into support has died. However it'd be perfect for a backyard brawl, and win. Otherwise an Axial AX-10 or Ridgecrest. Some might say Redcat RS10. Meh.

Tons of support for axial products from what I've seen so far...albeit, I'm a newbie.

I second the above, get an Axial AX10. Preferably a more or less used Scorpion, but a Ridgecrest will do.
Plenty of support and aftermarket parts for those.

I would get something in line with what your friends have. If they have shafties, then get an AX10. If they have scalers, get a scaler. If they still run MRC's, stick with your MRC. etc., etc.

It's not much fun if you're running something totally out of the class that everyone else is running. You will either be over or under capable and that gets old quickly.
