Default Cheap Gate Markers

Here are samples of free gate markers I used when traveling in Korea and Taipei. Before getting introduced to SCX10s I would take my mini-summit with me to goof off with in hotel rock gardens to keep me out of trouble in cities I could easily find trouble (I hit about 6-8 countries a year....most in Asia ). The green ones are from water bottle caps in Korea and the purple are from some toy that comes in a happy meal in Xian and Shezhen.

I found with a bit of play doh or putty they make pretty good gate markers.

great idea.

I use old tennis balls cut in half, that i get from the tennis coach from the high school. She saves me all the dead balls.

Free is always awesome... but some things are worth paying for.
(Please forgive the blatant advertising that is coming at the bottom.)

We used to use old tennis balls cut in half for USRCCA comps but honestly, Axial gates are so much nicer, lighter and stick as well or better. They will also fit into a bag easier/smaller to stack for storage. Not expensive either... plus I have never cut a chunk of my finger off making them.

And for scale anything ... RC4WD cones in pictures vs. a tennis ball makes it a no-brainer to me.

I also like to have multiple colors for bonus lines, alt gates, etc.

Warning .... Blatant advertising:

We use ballons filled with sand. They form to the rocks and stay where they're suppose to. May not look scale but form and function are great!!!

They could also come in handy during a LiPO fire!
