Default Shaft size on the GD600?

WE all know that the GD600 has a larger output shaft than a normal 540 can. What is the actual size of the shaft and where can I find 32 pitch pinions with the same size shaft?
I actually have 1 pinion with the correct size hole to fit the output shaft but I don't know where it came from, I got it in a lot I bought on EBay, and I want more and possibly a smaller tooth count.
Help fellow crawler out.

I want to run dual GD600's and Dual 65T Lathe's on my Twin force to make it a crawler. If you have a link to say Tower or somewhere to find it that would be great.
Thanks

I think RC4WD is making some or inetrc Or you could just have yours turned down to 3mm to accept any pitch or sized pinion

Yea, but RC4wd isn't as cheap as the GD600. I like the RC4wd planetary setup, but at $50 a pop, that gets expensive with a twin motor setup. The GD600 would be MUCH cheaper even if I had to buy new pinions.

If you want somebody to turn down the shafts, I know JIA has done it before. He might even have some still laying around.

If he isnt up for it, I could chuck one up for you.

Chuck the shaft into a metal lathe and turn it down. JIA uses a Sherline, I use an old Logan.

Oh that was what I was afraid of, I don't have a Lathe only lathe motors LOL.
Is there a redneck way to do it. Like grinding down with the shaft in a drill or something? It's prolly easier to find a pinion.
I tried to drill out some of my pinions and they drifted so bad they were off centered and after the second one, I didn't want to ruin any more pinions.

Any other ideas for me?

I did it the hillbilly way and chucked it in a cordless drill and went to town on it with a file. Took me forever, but it worked...

You can buy 5mm pinions from rcmonster or finedesign. They normally run $10 or 11 each. If you want to change pinions it would be cheaper to get the shaft turned down. If you know exactly what gearing you want, it will be cheaper to just get one pinion.

I might have to do that but I would rather find a pinion with the right size hole. I know they are made because I have 1 but haven't seen them on Tower

Found a Stinger 16t Pinion with a 5mm bore, it just doesn't say what the pitch is.

Probably mod .5, which should mesh with 48pitch. The heli looks small. It is composite though, I doubt the teeth would stay on long.

13T 5mm on Tower
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMGY8&P=7
I think that is what i need. That should gear the Twin Force down really nicely.

Thanks guys.

Edit:
Could go down to a 9t Woo, that would be a low gear

That is the pitch of the pinion you linked to. It wont mesh with anything but mod1 pitch.
