aftermarket upgrades for axial trucks

i have to decide what axial truck i want, and have narrowed the choices to a dingo or a wraith. since i will be getting the truck for free (to me that is) the only deciding factor is which one will i need to spend more money on to get it to become a capable crawler. thanks for the help.

The Wraith is a bit less capable "Out of the Box" new

I have seen skilled drivers at my local comps crack the seal on a brand new off the shelf Dingo and Honcho and do nothing more then add batteries and win the comp over some very well built trucks.

The Wraith can be just as capable with work, but the Dingo and Honcho just "have it" out of the box and only improve with every Mod done in the future.

Don't forget to snap some pictures and show us what you end up with and some action pics too!"thumbsup"

Depends on your motor/gearing upgrade, wheel/tire upgrades, and driving style.
In stock trucks they are fine imo, but in a modified rig combined with a heavy throttle not long.

Most likely going to be staying stock, but if i do go 2.2s i would like to know whether i should invest in better shafts first

You don't necessarily have to change axles to use 2.2 tires but you will run into a clearance problem under suspension compression and articulation with the tires hitting the body.,,You can purchase lift kits but this isn't a very good idea from a performance stand point of view because you will make your truck much easier to tip over on an incline..You haven't mentiond what you will be using to power the truck but if you keep it simple it will save you a ton of money in upgrades you don't really need to be competitive or have fun in your area..If you are more interested in performance than spending a lot of money on the truck then please check out my thread.
