Default Transmission Difference

I'm about to buy a transmission for my custom scaler and was just wondering what is the difference between the Wraith tranny and the SCX tanny? I notice the Wraith has a bigger housing.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Wraith has a longer output on the rear to help clear the longer Wraith skid plate.

The only physical differences between the two are the plastic case halves, and the output shaft halves. The Wraith housing has "extra" room inside for a dig unit, as well as a 3rd, very oversized, output shaft bearing.

The SCX trans is normally mounted with the motors endbell facing forwards, the Wraith's is normally mounted with the endbell facing rearward.

Thanks for the help... Do they have the same 4 mounting holes? Will a Wraith tranny fit on a SCX skid plate?

Yes, they have the same mounting holes. The big challenge is getting the drive shaft angles right so that you don't bind due to the longer output on the Wraith transmission. The dig option can be made to work on a SCX-10 too.
