Default C Hub Repair

I have a stripped chub. Where the knuckles threads into them. They are VP and are on my Berg. I am thinking of drilling out the back side for a nut to slide up in. what do u guys think is the best fix?

Drill them and tap for 4mm. Makes them stronger and less prone to damage. BTW, I have stripped a few but never a VP. GO easy when your tightening them down, and use loctite.

You can drill it out and use one of the m3 brass inserts from Mcmaster carr. I've had one like that on my wraith for about a year and a half now with no problems.

I may try my local nut and bolt store to see if they have any that small as far as the inserts go. I like that idea as long as i can buy one or a couple not like 20 or 100. Thanks for the thoughts.

OK so after looking locally for the helicoil and the brass insert neither were able to be done without buying a mass quantity of the inserts and needed a special tap which they didnt have for the helicoil. So what I wound up doing was drilling out the brass bushing for a 6-32 standard screw and drilled and tapped the chub. Works good. thanks for all the suggestions
