Matt Myrick (owner of BustedKnuckleFims) went out there last year with a rental. I believe it was the Hitman buggy. This year, though, it seems that most of the superstars have gone out there. Bobby Tanner (Screaming Blue), Richie Keith (Plowboy), Showgirl, Oversized and a few others.

Very true. If you really think about and scale it out with a chassis that is of the tire's scale or even the axle, you'll see that they come in pretty close to the 1:1 sizes.

The secret and challenge is making a chassis that really fits the width of the AR60 axle and the height of a 2.2 tire, without making it extremely heavy and useless. Even DOM tubing gets heavy after a few weld joints and cross beams....

I think Harley mentioned that the axles are closer to 1/8th (maybe 1/9th) scale, so think about a Summit size... That's pretty much the scale you need to build.

We have very similar competitions to that, the G6 is close, but locally we run something even closer to KOH style.

We run a season full of events. We'll have our calendar up this month. Watch the Missouri section.

Last year it was INSANELY hot, but other than that it was fun. Being much earlier this year the weather should be a little easier on us. Also, I'd keep an eye out for something else that may be convenient for you to swing by that weekend...

Not true, I have several friends that run KOH including Shannon Campbell. The only guys that are running 37's are the guys in the Every Man Challenge. All the Ultra4 rigs are running at least 40's. I personally know five competitors this year, including three that finished to 10 in their respective classes.

I believe that Shannon Campbell is running 40's, I could check as I drive by his shop most everyday. Andrew McLaughlin (finished 10th this year) is running 40's, as is Desert Fab Racing (driven by Curt LeDuc the past two years-dnf). Andrew (Letzroll Racing-Mesa, AZ) had rigs in three classes this year and all three finished top 10, pretty amazing. They are all running axles built in his shop , the rears being junk yard salvaged 14 bolts at full one-ton width. Would make AR60's pretty much in line.

As soon as the deal with Dave Cole is finished. If you don't know who he is then sell your crawlers because you don't need to be anywhere near the rocks. Or desert.
